This splendid, resonant, beautifully detailed wine captures everything that is most desirable in the 2014 vintage. Blackberry and black cherry fruit, adorned with a sprinkling of Sumatra coffee beans, rocks on with polished tannins. The pleasing roasted character is just right to power it through a clean, sexy finish. Drink now and on through 2026. 95 Points Cellar Selection

Translated from Latin, one of the various meanings of Confero is to bring together, and here Willamette Valley producer Eric Eide (who loves Latin) brings together four clones from five vineyards. Aged 11 months in French oak (23% new), the integration of fruit, acidity and tartly appointed tannins keep the wine fresh, edgy and a bit earthy. I found this immensely food-friendly with a variety of dishes. Deep notes of blueberry and white-peppered strawberry gets juicier as the wine continues to open up.

Vivid ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented aromas of cherry, raspberry, potpourri, spice cake and a hint of blood orange show excellent clarity. Sappy and precise in the mouth, offering alluringly sweet red fruit liqueur and anise flavors and an exotic rose pastille quality that builds steadily on the back half. Shows impressive energy and focus and finishes with a snap of juicy acidity and lingering raspberry and floral pastille notes. These vines were planted in 1968, making them some of the oldest in the Willamette Valley.

From the last remaining block of a vineyard planted in 1968 by Oregon pioneer Dick Erath that’s yielding less than 1.5 tons per acre, this is loaded with rose petal and cherry blossom aromas. Delicate and graceful, it offers subtle raspberry, blackberry and cherry fruit. The finish is exceptional, long and complex, with hints of coffee and caramel. Give this wine your full attention and enjoy how long it lingers. Editors’ Choice.

(40 percent new oak) Deep bright red. Smoky, mineral-laced cherry, black raspberry and rose scents take on subtle notes of vanilla and cola as the wine opens up. Sappy, seamless red and dark berry flavors show impressive depth as well as vivacity thanks to a spine of juicy acidity. The floral and spice notes drive a very long, gently tannic finish, which is given verve by a late jab of blood orange. 2018 - 2023

(23 percent new oak) Brilliant red. Ripe raspberry, cherry, licorice and a hint of woodsmoke on the expressive nose. Fleshy, open-knit and appealingly sweet, offering juicy red and dark berry flavors that are given a spicy edge by a jolt of white pepper. Shows very good clarity and solid punch on the long, smooth finish, which features subtle tannins and repeating smokiness. 2017 - 2022
