This wine’s open, welcoming nose this early on comes as a surprise to Eide as he finds this cuvée usually “falls off the cliff” about three months after bottling. Bottled 29 September 2013, it is nowhere near the precipice and is flaunting a concentrated palate of peak-of ripeness blueberries, suavely integrated oak and spritely acidity. Drink: 2014-22

"Vivid ruby-red. Flamboyant red and dark berry aromas are accented by smoky Indian spices, lavender, cola and woodsmoke. Sappy and expansive on the palate, displaying potent blackberry and cherry compote flavors underscored and lifted by zesty minerals and a hint of white pepper. Sweetens up with air and finishes with slowly mounting tannins and excellent persistence. Suave and approachable now but this pinot has the depth to age."

Ripe but invigoratingly tart-edged blackberry & purple plum are garlanded in bittersweet perfumed iris & gentian, while mingled with peat, humus and sauvage notes. A striking combination of textural richness with infectious juiciness, culminating into a lingering finish that is downright intriguing; in what is typical Aberrant Cellars fashion. Bright ruby-red. Sexy, spice-laced red and dark berry scents are complicated by notes of cola, mocha, potpourri and smoky minerals. Fleshy, focused and lively, offering appealingly sweet black raspberry and cherry pit flavors that tighten up and gain spiciness with air. Packs a serious punch of fruit but comes off as lithe, finishing with excellent thrust and silky, even tannins that add structure.

Bright red. An exotically perfumed bouquet evokes wild red berries, incense and fresh rose, with subtle smoke and mineral nuances building in the glass. Juicy and precise, offering tangy redcurrant and raspberry flavors that become sweeter with air. Smooth, seamless and refreshingly bitter on the finish, leaving behind notes of candied plum and cherry pit.
