The Collection

WILLAMETTE VALLEY
Confero {to bring together}

is, and will always be, the practice of bringing distinct vineyards and clones of Pinot Noir together, from differing sub-regions within the Willamette valley. From this ideal, we are able to capture unique strengths of each parcel and adjoin them with qualities of other individual sites, thus enhancing the overall complexity and depth a given vintage can provide.

CLARET

A big challenge and appeal for working with Carmenere and Cabernet Franc, as a winemaker, is to keep the ever-present pyrazine’s in check. These calling cards are part of the unique qualities for these varieties, and we believe that a little goes a long way. So, a subtle influence of smoked peppercorn and roasted chilis can be found within this wine’s deep, purply profile. Texturally speaking, the Carmenere and Malbec both contribute rich, rounded personalities, with Malbec being the more whimsical of the two. The Cabernets provide a backdrop of structure and elegance, while also contributing additional horsepower for good measure.

CHARDONNAY

Van Duzer Corridor- Willamette Valley

Formally recognized on December 13, 2018; for decades, winemakers and winegrowers have extolled the virtues associated with the Van Deuzer afternoon wind influences. Called the “Van Duzer effect,” it truly has a significant impact of style for the wines, of this and some of the neighboring regions.

Temperatures dramatically affected with 20-30 degree drops in late afternoons, have longer hangtimes throughout the season. They are a necessity to incorporate these swings in temperatures; and, more often than not, flavor development is ahead of sugar development. This then offers lower potential alcohols. Skin of the grapes tend to become thicker from the winds, resulting in less juice to skin ratio, and often provide wines which have a savoryness, displaying tightly wound energy at their core.

PETITE SIRAH

Savvy travelers and outdoor enthusiasts have long appreciated this region’s natural bounties. Grapevines have been grown here since the 1840’s, historically making it Oregon’s first, oldest vine-growing area. In the last couple of decades, Rogue Valley has a new generation of winemakers, who have taken the baton from their historic predecessors and picked up the pace. This region’s uniqueness stems from its multi-faceted diversity in climate conditions, elevations, soil types, and exposures. It is truly, one of those rare pockets where such a phenomenon exists. It actually presents a tantalizing opportunity for vine-growers, winemakers, and ultimately wine enthusiasts. From crisp, minerally white wines, to dense, bold reds (and pretty much everything in between), winemaking can be done and at the highest levels.
